ATLANTA (AP) - A federal elections official is set to visit Atlanta for a town hall-style event.

Federal Election Commission Vice Chair Ann Ravel is scheduled to participate in the event at 6 p.m. Thursday at the Emory University Law School.

The forum is meant to give Georgians a chance to express their views on the state of the country’s elections, money in politics and the future of democracy.

The Emory event is the third in a series of similar events Ravel is attending across the country. She said in a news release that the meetings will help her gain perspective from people outside of Washington on concerns people have about the state of democracy in the U.S.

Local election and campaign finance experts are also set to participate in the event.
