OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - The Oklahoma Ethics Commission has dismissed a complaint that accused a Republican state senator of not properly reporting campaign expenditures.

The Oklahoma Democratic Party filed the complaint last month against Sen. Dan Newberry of Tulsa. The complaint alleged that Newberry didn’t properly disclose expenses in his campaign finance reports.

The Tulsa World reports (https://bit.ly/1wttC9y ) that the ethics commission voted earlier this month to dismiss the complaint. The panel’s general counsel, Geoffrey D. Long, said in a letter to Newberry that the complaint was dismissed and the matter was closed.

Newberry was elected to the Senate in 2008.
