APLINGTON, Iowa (AP) - A 21-year-old Iowa man has been sentenced to 16 years and four months in federal prison for possessing child pornography.

A judge handed down the punishment to Jeremiah Romo of Aplington this week. He pleaded guilty to one count of possession of child porn in a deal with prosecutors who dismissed three similar charges.

Romo was also ordered to serve 20 years of supervised release after his prison sentence.

Authorities say Romo in 2013 had the pornographic images on his laptop and a flash drive.
