CLINTON TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) - The Michigan Supreme Court will be holding court for high school students in Macomb County.

The justices are traveling Wednesday to the Macomb Center for the Performing Arts to hear a case involving the death of a child in Wayne County.

The issue is whether the child’s mother can be charged with first-degree child abuse on the theory that she didn’t do enough to prevent it.

It’s the 15th time the Supreme Court has heard arguments away from its courtroom in Lansing. Students from more than two dozen schools have been invited to watch and meet the seven justices.
