WESTLAKE, Ohio (AP) - A woman in charge of a northeast Ohio assisted living facility has been charged with burglary after police accused of her going into elderly residents’ rooms and stealing their prescription pain medication.

Forty-one-year-old Christina Melaragno of the Cleveland suburb of Gates Mills is the executive director of Gardens of Westlake. Westlake police say members of a drug task force, the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration and the Ohio Nursing Board conducted a search of Melaragno’s office on Tuesday.

Police Capt. Guy Turner says there have been six reports of stolen pills at the facility since November.

It’s unclear whether Melaragno has an attorney.
