ULSTER, N.Y. (AP) - Authorities are investigating the death of a person who was hit by a passing freight train in a Hudson Valley town.

Police in the town of Ulster tell local media that emergency units were dispatched around 9 p.m. Tuesday for a report of a pedestrian hit by a CSX train near a crossing in the town, located 50 miles south of Albany.

Officials say a person was found dead at the scene. The victim’s name hasn’t been released.

No other information has been released.
