MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - Authorities have charged a 24-year-old woman who they say ran over another woman and dragged her with a car in Minneapolis.

Vanessa Uzong of Minneapolis was charged with first-degree assault Tuesday. Twenty-six-year-old Miera Horton of Minneapolis remained in critical condition Tuesday afternoon following the Saturday incident. A criminal complaint says she has a punctured lung, lacerated liver and broken bones.

Police say Horton was dragged until Uzong’s car hit another vehicle. They say Uzong admitted at the scene that she was the driver.

Witnesses tell police Uzong and Horton had been fighting before the incident. Witnesses say Uzong drove through a parking lot and swerved to intentionally hit Horton.

She is being held on $150,000 bail. Online jail records didn’t indicate an attorney.
