SOMERSET, Ky. (AP) - A southern Kentucky man charged with killing his girlfriend will get a chance to hear some of the evidence against him at a preliminary hearing.

WKYT-TV in Lexington reported (https://bit.ly/1otKkEP ) that a judge will conduct the hearing Wednesday in Pulaski County for Johnny Hendrix of Somerset.

Police say Hendrix killed Monica Wells and then dumped her body in a sinkhole not far from her home.

Investigators say her 8-year-old son saw the couple fighting before they disappeared into the woods.

Hendrix pleaded not guilty to a murder charge. He is being held on a $500,000 bond.
