CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) - History buffs can to get a glimpse of the aircraft that helped the nation win World War II.

The Wings of Freedom Tour featuring three operating planes from the era is making a stop at the Charleston Executive Airport beginning Wednesday.

A B-17 Flying Fortress, a B-24 Liberator and a North American P-51 Mustang are on display through Friday. For a charge, visitors will also be able to fly in the aircraft.

The Wings of Freedom Tour is organized by the Collings Foundation, a nonprofit educational foundation that organizes living history events. The foundation has staged the tour for a quarter century and visits more than 100 cities a year.
