BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) - A Fort Totten man is accused of putting a woman in the hospital and punching a 4-year-old child in the face in Bismarck.

Authorities allege 34-year-old Lionel Dunn punched the 24-year-old woman in the face and kicked her in the stomach during an argument on Tuesday night. The Bismarck Tribune reports she was taken to a hospital for treatment.

The following night, Dunn allegedly got into another altercation with the woman and another woman, and punched the child when the child attempted to intervene.

Dunn is charged with aggravated assault and child abuse. He could face up to 15 years in prison if convicted. Court documents indicate his bond was set at $5,000 cash on Thursday. He is applying for a public defender.
