LEWISVILLE, Ark. (AP) - A change-of-plea hearing is scheduled for the Lafayette County treasurer, who’s charged with embezzling public money.

The Texarkana Gazette reports (https://bit.ly/1nCJfKd ) that Keesha Rose is due in court next Wednesday. Her attorney, Steve Harrelson, says Rose will change her plea to guilty in the case.

Rose was indicted earlier this year on two counts of theft from a program receiving federal funds in excess of at least $5,000. A legislative audit found that more than $162,000 was not deposited in the Lafayette County tax collector’s bank accounts between Jan. 1, 2011, and Sept. 20, 2012.

Harrelson says Rose will be sentenced after a presentencing report is ordered in the case.
