CUMMING, Ga. (AP) - Authorities in metro Atlanta are looking for an inmate who escaped after walking away from a work detail at a police station.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports (https://on-ajc.com/1wqybk2 ) 39-year-old Koby Blanchard gave Forsyth County authorities the slip Friday afternoon when he was supposed to working at the Cumming Police Department.

Police Lt. Bryan Zimbardi said Blanchard was not considered a public safety threat or believed to be armed. The inmate’s prior charges include arson, burglary and theft.

Police say Blanchard was last seen wearing an orange jumpsuit but likely changed clothes after his escape.
