PARKERSBURG, W.Va. (AP) - Police in Parkersburg are looking for a driver who struck two young children before fleeing.

Media outlets report the hit-and-run occurred shortly after 7 p.m. Thursday in Parkersburg. Police Chief Joe Martin says the children suffered head injuries.

They were flown to Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown. Hospital spokeswoman Angela Knopf says 5-year-old Isabella Howard is in serious condition Friday, while 3-year-old Arylla Utt is in good condition. Both are from Parkersburg.

Martin says a mother and grandmother of one of the children were waiting for them across the street when the children were struck.
