MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (AP) - A second federal prisoner has been sentenced in an attack on another prisoner.

Edward C. Crow was convicted in Clarksburg federal court in August. He was convicted of conspiracy and assault with intent to murder.

Prosecutors say Crow and another prisoner, John David Pinke, beat a third prisoner at the federal facility at Hazelton in January 2013.

U.S. District Judge Irene Keeley sentenced Crow to nearly 38 years, most of which are to be served consecutively.

The 44-year-old Crow is currently serving time at a federal prison in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania. Before Tuesday’s sentencing, Crow’s release date was set for January 2026. That release date now extends to December 2063.

Earlier this week Pinke was sentenced to an additional 23 years behind bars.
