HIGH POINT, N.C. (AP) - Thomas Built Buses says it will add 236 full-time jobs at its High Point facility, choosing the Triad site over its South Carolina plant.

Area media outlets report the company plans to spend $11.8 million at the High Point plant, picking the location over its Gaffney, South Carolina, location.

The company announced its decision about a week after the final local incentive packages totaling more than $372,000 were approved. The company did not ask for state incentives.

According to the High Point Economic Development Corp., all of the jobs will be added during 2015. Of the total, 228 jobs will be welders, painters, assembly technicians, materials technicians and inspectors. Eight of the jobs will be supervisors and managers. The average wage of the new jobs will be more than $37,000.
