WAUSAU, Wis. (AP) - A Wausau company is literally going the extra mile to make sure it has enough help during the holiday shopping season.

The sportswear company Eastbay is offering to transport employees who live as far as 45 minutes away in order to have adequate staffing during the holidays.

Eastbay Distribution Center recruiting supervisor Kalli Yaklyvich tells WSAW-TV (https://bit.ly/1xhNHOr ) there are people in surrounding communities that need jobs, but may not have transportation.

The company is currently picking up employees in Merrill, about 20 minutes to the north, and Antigo, which is about 40 minutes to the northeast. Yaklyvich says it’s not a huge expense for the company and ensures employees will come in on time.

Eastbay wants to expand its route to Abbotsford, about 35 miles away.
