GREELEY, Colo. (AP) - A 21-year-old woman convicted of lying about being kidnapped and raped by a former co-worker in Windsor has been ordered to serve 35 days in jail and six months under electronic home monitoring.

Katherine Elizabeth Bennett was sentenced Friday in Greeley.

Last November, she accused 25-year-old Dustin Toth of luring her to a Safeway parking lot and then abducting, drugging and sexually assaulting her. However, investigators say her story changed several times and that she deleted a text message proving the initial report was false.

Toth was arrested because of the allegations. He says he nearly lost his military career as a result.

The Greeley Tribune (https://bit.ly/ZMEPoK) reported that the judge set a Nov. 24 hearing to determine whether Bennett can be under electronic monitoring in Illinois, where she has family.
