ST. CLOUD, Minn. (AP) - Authorities in St. Cloud say a 66-year-old man shot and wounded his 63-year-old estranged wife.

Stearns County dispatchers started getting calls around 10 a.m. Saturday about one vehicle chasing another on County Road 4. Callers said one vehicle rammed the other, and that they heard gunshots.

Chief Deputy Bruce Bechtold tells the St. Cloud Times (https://on.sctimes.com/1w5B1vR ) the man apparently rammed her car several times, and that he fired several shots during the incident.

Witnesses stopped to help the woman after her car stopped. The man fled but was soon caught. The sheriff’s office says a gun was recovered from his damaged pickup truck.

Authorities say the woman suffered at least one apparent gunshot wound, but her injuries are not believed to be life threatening. Her name was not immediately released.
