SPARTANBURG, S.C. (AP) - People in Spartanburg dressed as zombies are busting a move in hopes of breaking a world record this weekend.

They gather on Saturday at the Spartanburg Marriott to learn the dance moves that Michael Jackson performed in the “Thriller” Video.

Then, at exactly 6 p.m., the group joins others around the world to simultaneously dance to the hit.

Organizers of the South Carolina event being called Thrill the World Upstate, say the record was set back in 2009 when almost 23,000 people worldwide danced to the tune at the same time.

Proceeds from the Spartanburg event benefit local community theaters.
