KILN, Miss. (AP) - Authorities say two Bay St. Louis men have died in separate weekend house fires.

City Fire Chief Pam San Fillippo tells WLOX-TV (https://bit.ly/1srlIYe ) that 87-year-old Joseph Labat III was home alone when a fire broke out Sunday. She says fire was contained to a single room but there was heavy smoke.

State fire investigators were looking into the cause on Sunday.

The Sun Herald (https://bit.ly/1tWxwJn ) reports that 52-year-old Andrew Jackson Ellis Sr. died late Friday.

Hancock County sheriff’s investigator Glenn Grannan says that fire started about 11:30 p.m. Friday and quickly engulfed the house, but three other people escaped. Grannan does not know whether the occupants were related.

He believes the fire was accidental, but the cause is still under investigation.
