ANDERSON, S.C. (AP) - Investigators say a 75-year-old man has died at a burn center a day after his Anderson home caught fire.

Authorities told local media that Donnie Whitlock died Saturday afternoon at the burn center in Augusta, Georgia.

Investigators say Whitlock suffered serious burns when his apartment caught fire Friday night. Neighbors pulled him from the home and say he was engulfed in flames.

Anderson County deputy coroner Charlie Boseman says Whitlock was in poor health with lung problems and may have been smoking at the time of the fire. The cause of the blaze remains under investigation.
