LACONIA, N.H. (AP) - Police say a 9-year-old child has suffered minor injuries after colliding with a motor vehicle while riding a scooter.

The accident happened just after 2 p.m. Sunday at Baldwin and Lovell streets. Police say the child was riding down Lovell Street, which has a steep decline, when the scooter collided with a car on Baldwin Street.

The child, who was not wearing a helmet, has been treated at a hospital for minor injuries to the left foot and leg.
