MIAMI (AP) - Towns across Florida have begun harvesting their first strawberry crops of the season.

While the northeast watches the leaves turn red this fall, Floridians eagerly await the red of autumn’s strawberries.

Most of the strawberries will be shipped north, but locals can pick their own at farms across South and central Florida.

Florida’s strawberry season marks the beginning of the Sunshine State’s harvest season.
