HENDERSON, Nev. (AP) - Henderson police have arrested a man they believe killed a 44-year-old man whose body was found in a makeshift homeless encampment.

Authorities believe 35-year-old Amos Martinez got into an argument with the older man and beat him to death.

The man’s body was found Thursday in a desert area near Lake Mead Parkway and Warm Springs Road.

His name has not been made public.

Henderson city spokesman Keith Paul says Martinez was living in another encampment nearby.

Martinez was arrested Saturday and was being held without bond in the Henderson Detention Center on suspicion of murder and robbery.

No court date was made public Sunday.
