BOZEMAN, Mont. (AP) - The victim of a 2011 stabbing has sued a Gallatin Gateway bar, saying the staff should have acted sooner.

The Bozeman Daily Chronicle reports (https://bit.ly/1DMv3lJ ) Zane Rentfro’s lawsuit against Stacey’s Bar and his attacker, Mark Logan, was filed Wednesday in Gallatin County District Court.

Logan pleaded no contest to a charge of assault with a weapon. He is scheduled to be sentenced Nov. 24.

Prosecutors say Logan stabbed Retfro six times with a hunting knife during a fight in October 2011.

Rentfro’s attorney, Edward Moriarty, claims bar staff should have known Logan was dangerous after trying to start other fights that night.

The lawsuit charges the bar with negligence, along with claims against Logan of willful and wanton misconduct and intentional disregard of the life and safety of others.
