HOLDEN, Mass. (AP) - Authorities say one person is dead after a three-alarm fire at a Holden home that neighbors say was preceded by two explosions.

A neighbor called 911 around noon on Sunday to report hearing explosions and seeing fire coming from the home at the end of a cul-de-sac.

One victim was found inside.

The victim’s name was not immediately made public.

State Fire Marshal Stephen Coan tells The Telegram & Gazette (https://bit.ly/1oOvGIm ) that the cause remains under investigation, but he said there are no natural gas lines to the building.

Coan said the fire caused extensive damage.

Firefighters from Sterling, Paxton and Rutland were called to the scene.
