WILMINGTON, N.C. (AP) - The Coast Guard has rescued an injured woman from a grounded sailboat near Wilmington.

The Coast Guard said in a statement that the agency was called shortly after 3 p.m. Sunday to a report of a grounded sailboat just east of Seagate.

The 38-foot Sundancer ran aground with a man, woman and two children aboard south of Bradley Creek near Money Island.

A boat from Coast Guard Station Wrightsville Beach responded. A civilian boat had taken the children while the man waited with the woman, who had a head injury.

She was taken to a marina in Wilmington where New Hanover County emergency medical workers were waiting. She was reported in stable condition.

Her name has not been released.
