BOULDER, Colo. (AP) - Authorities say a man who fell about 200 feet off a trail near Boulder told deputies he had taken hallucinogenic drugs before the hike.

The Boulder County Sheriff’s Office said someone reported a hiker acting strangely at Chautauqua Park on Sunday afternoon. While the caller was on the phone with dispatchers, the office says Austin Stevens fell down an embankment.

He was taken to a hospital but the extent of his injuries aren’t known.
