PLEASANTVILLE, N.J. (AP) - Authorities say the son of a Pleasantville police officer has been charged in an ambush shooting last week that wounded two people in that southern New Jersey community.

Andre Graves Byrd is charged with aggravated assault, tampering with evidence and weapons offenses. His bail was set at $150,000 and it wasn’t known Monday if he’s retained an attorney.

The Press of Atlantic City (https://bit.ly/1yFRk1W) reports the 25-year-old Byrd is accused of shooting 21-year-old Sha’Daija Gonzalez-Morgan and 26-year-old Hector Gonzalez. The couple had just left a local business Friday night when they were shot at six times.

Gonzalez was hit four times in the arm and torso, while Gonzalez-Morgan was struck once in the back. Both remained hospitalized Monday in critical condition.

A motive for the shooting has not been disclosed.
