SANTA FE, N.M. (AP) - Santa Fe County authorities say a couple found fatally shot in a car over the weekend was an 18-year-old man and his 13-year-old girlfriend and that the deaths apparently were a double homicide.

The Sheriff’s Department says the man found in the car on Saturday was 18-year-old Venancio Cisneros. The girl’s identity wasn’t released because she was a juvenile.

However, sheriff’s Capt. Adan Mendoza says the girl was a frequent runaway from her Santa Fe home.

According to sheriff’s officials, no gun was found in the vehicle and the killings are being treated as a double homicide.

Deputies found the two victims after it was reported that two people were slumped over inside a car.

Mendoza said police are still not sure when the two were killed.
