WILMINGTON, N.C. (AP) - A Wilmington man has pleaded guilty Monday in connection with a 2012 shooting death.

The StarNews of Wilmington reported that 22-year-old Codey Guerrero pleaded guilty in Wilmington on Monday to accessory after the fact in the 2012 shooting death of 22-year-old David McPhatter of Columbus County.

Prosecutors dropped a murder charge against Guerrero in exchange for the guilty plea to the lesser charge.

McPhatter was from Riegelwood and was shot and killed following a dispute on a Wilmington street May 12, 2012.

A co-defendant, 22-yar-old Terrell Artez Robinson pleaded guilty in July to second-degree murder. He was sentenced to between 13 and 17 years in prison.

Guerrero has not been sentenced yet.
