SUTTON, N.H. (AP) - New Hampshire State Police say a driver clocked at speeding 111 miles an hour on Interstate 89 told police he was running late for work.

They charged 34-year-old Francis Aumand IV of Burlington, Vermont, with reckless operation.

State police aircraft were conducing traffic enforcement on the highway in the town of Sutton on Sunday night when they saw the vehicle driven by Aumand. Its speed was recorded multiple times. Police said the vehicle was traveling in excess of 100 miles an hour seven times.

It wasn’t immediately known if Aumand had a lawyer.
