VICKSBURG, Miss. (AP) - Vicksburg police report a shootout between a girl and a home invader.

Capt. Sandra Williams says nobody was hit in the incident before dawn Monday.

She tells WLBT-TV (https://bit.ly/12Wd6Ej ) the robber took two wallets, then forced a woman and a girl out of bed at gunpoint, tying them up in the living room.

Williams says the man went outside and the girl freed herself and got a gun. The man fired a shot into the house, getting back in as the mother tried to lock the door.

Williams says the girl and man fired several shots at each other.

She didn’t give the girl’s age, but says two other children were in the house.

Williams tells The Vicksburg Post (https://bit.ly/1wD8uMb) that she does not believe the family was randomly targeted.
