BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) - A Lee High School teacher turned himself in to law enforcement authorities after one of his former students accused him of making inappropriate comments to her at school on several occasions.

The Advocate reports (https://bit.ly/1wuIKCv ) East Baton Rouge Parish sheriff’s deputies arrested 50-year-old Oscar C. Mays, Friday on accusations of indecent behavior with a juvenile stemming from the alleged comments to the girl.

According to the arrest warrant, the 15-year-old girl recently notified her parents about some of the comments, at which point the girl’s parents notified the school. School officials then called in the Sheriff’s Office.

Mays’ attorney said the accusations were made in the context of some developing disciplinary problems involving the accuser.

May was released after posting $5,000 bail.
