MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) - A Memphis man has been sentenced to life in prison after being convicted of first-degree murder in the Easter Sunday 2012 shooting death of another man.

Shelby County Dist. Atty. Amy Weirich says a jury convicted 29-year-old Delshun Jones late Friday evening of killing 25-year-old Samuel “Sam Bo” Wilkes Jr., on April 8, 2012.

Witnesses say they spoke to Jones before the shooting and asked him not to shoot Wilkes over an argument the two men had earlier by phone.

Witnesses say Jones drove up the street to where Wilkes was standing and that they immediately heard gunshots and saw Wilkes down in the street.

Wilkes died of multiple gunshot wounds.
