GRAND FORKS, N.D. (AP) - The University of North Dakota football team has lost its starting quarterback for the rest of the season.

Coach Bubba Schweigert says sophomore quarterback Joe Mollberg injured his right Achilles tendon in Saturday’s loss to Southern Utah and will miss UND’s final four games.

The Detroit Lakes, Minnesota, native started the first eight games of the season, completing 78 of 143 passes for 919 yards and three touchdowns.

Sophomore quarterback Ryan Bartels will take over as the starter.
