YAKIMA, Wash. (AP) - A 25-year-old man was sentenced Monday in Yakima to 40 years in prison for a drive-by shooting in Toppenish.

A jury convicted Juan Andres Rodriguez of attempted murder and assault.

The Yakima Herald-Republic reports (https://bit.ly/1v9xBUy) the sentence includes 10 years for using a firearm.

The victim injured in the 2012 shooting was able to ram the shooter’s car, which crashed into a house. Rodriguez was arrested at the scene.
