ANDERSON, S.C. (AP) - A ceremony is being held to honor 28 firefighters and law enforcement officers from Anderson County who have fallen in the line of duty.

The Independent-Mail reports (https://bit.ly/1rL4qGp ) the event is being held at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday at Taylor Park at the Civic Center of Anderson.

In the past, blue balloons for law officers and red ballons for firefighters were held by participants.

This year, life-sized cutouts representing those who have fallen are being placed on a hill near the park so they are silhouetted by the setting sun.

A roll call of those who have died in the line of duty is being read, followed by a rifle volley and walk around the pond in the park in remembrance.
