STACYVILLE, Iowa (AP) - A northern Iowa dry fertilizer plant rocked by an explosion will be closed for a short time.

Scott Janssen manages the Northern Country Co-op’s plant in Stacyville, and he says the cause of Monday’s blast is being investigated.

Janssen says one employee was taken to the hospital as a precaution but was able to return to work.

The accident occurred as fertilizer was being taken up an elevator leg into a blending bin.
