PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) - The state Board of Elections has dismissed a complaint by the campaign for Providence mayoral candidate Buddy Cianci (see-AN’-see) that an outside group running a TV ad against him was coordinating with his Democratic opponent.

WPRO-AM (https://bit.ly/1nMJEtt ) reports that the board on Monday said there was no evidence that Priorities PVD had coordinated with Jorge Elorza’s campaign.

The board found that the group, started by former Democratic gubernatorial candidate Myrth York, did violate a state law requiring it to include certain donor information in its ad. It directed the group to change the ad by Friday.

A lawyer for Cianci, who’s running as an independent, said the campaign plans to resubmit the complaint about coordination after getting more testimony.
