CASPER, Wyo. (AP) - Prosecutors in Natrona County have filed more serious charges against a 42-year-old Casper man who is suspected of trying to run over his estranged wife with his pickup truck this summer.

Clint Webb made an initial appearance on the attempted second-degree murder charge last Friday. Webb did not enter a plea but told District Judge Michael Patchen that the district attorney had blackmailed him. Patchen doubled Webb’s bail to $100,000.

Webb had earlier pleaded not guilty to felony property damage and two counts of aggravated assault and battery, stemming from allegations that Webb intentionally struck his wife’s minivan with his truck on June 30 and then tried to run her over after she got out of her disabled vehicle.

District Attorney Mike Blonigen did not say what prompted the attempted murder charge.
