LAS VEGAS (AP) - Authorities have identified a 3-year-old Las Vegas girl who died when a car she was riding in was rear-ended by a man suspected of driving under the influence.

Clark County coroner’s officials say Elena Rivera was killed in the crash Saturday afternoon on Carey Avenue near Sandy Lane.

Authorities say a Toyota Corolla with Rivera inside was stopped in the road as the driver was speaking with a pedestrian. That’s when police say a Dodge Ram slammed into the car at full speed.

Police say the passenger in the truck fled the scene while 70-year-old driver Charles Washington of Pahrump failed sobriety tests and was arrested.

A 2-year-old girl and two other people in the Corolla were taken to University Medical Center with serious injuries.

Washington faces four DUI counts.
