PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) - New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie says he feels a “winning vibe” for Republican gubernatorial candidate Allan Fung in Rhode Island.

The Republican Governors Association chairman and potential 2016 presidential candidate visited several businesses with Fung on Tuesday on Federal Hill in Providence and in Cranston. It was his second visit for the Cranston mayor.

He says he believes Fung can win against Democratic Treasurer Gina Raimondo, and he’ll be back again Monday to do more campaigning. Fung says it’s a tight race, and his economic message is resonating.

A Brown University poll out Tuesday shows Raimondo and Fung neck and neck.

First lady Michelle Obama is campaigning for Raimondo on Thursday.

Fung, Raimondo and Moderate Party candidate Robert Healey are scheduled to meet for their second televised debate Tuesday evening.
