JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) - Police have arrested a suspect in the stabbings of two women at a Jacksonville hotel that left one dead and the other in critical condition.

Jacksonville police say 30-year-old Chad Hurst is being held on charges of murder and attempted murder for the Saturday stabbings.

Police arrived at a hotel on Baymeadows Road at around 4:30 a.m. and found one of the victims stabbed several times in a room.

The second stabbing victim was in critical condition at UF Health Jacksonville.

The Florida Times-Union (https://bit.ly/1DlQurX) reports that authorities are still trying to notify the victims’ next of kin, so have not released their identities.
