BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) - Authorities say a man has died after being pulled from a creek in Buffalo.

City police tell local media that the man was with friends late Monday night when he decided to enter Cazenovia Creek near South Legion Drive.

The Buffalo Police Underwater Recovery Team was called to the scene. Divers located the man and pulled him out of the creek.

Emergency crews tried to revive him at the scene before he was taken to Mercy Hospital in South Buffalo, where he was pronounced dead.

The man’s name hasn’t been released.
