MEBANE, N.C. (AP) - A 12-year-old Mebane girl plans to sponsor hayrides on Halloween to raise money for breast cancer awareness.

The Times-News of Burlington reported (https://bit.ly/1u3djS5) that Kaitlyn Haith plans to charge people $1 for adults and 50 cents for children on Halloween night.

She says the Governor’s Green subdivision in Mebane does a good job with Halloween decorations.

The proceeds from the hayrides will go to support programs for breast-cancer patients and the Norville Breast Care Center at Alamance Regional Medical Center.

Her grandmother will be driving the car pulling the decorated trailer for the rides.

Kaitlyn says she hopes to wrap up the hayrides in time to get some trick-or-treat candy as well.
