WEST HAVEN, Conn. (AP) - A newspaper reports that a West Haven High School math teacher has resigned after being placed on paid administrative leave while administrators investigated if he dated a student who subsequently graduated.

The New Haven Register, citing a document it obtained (https://bit.ly/1DoTwvw), reports that Mike Golinski will remain on leave and continue to be paid until he resigns on Dec. 31. The newspaper cited a general release and settlement agreement he signed earlier this month.

The board agreed to not contest unemployment benefits if sought by the 25-year-old Golinski. Officials also agreed to a recommendation letter from the district’s math coordinator.

Superintendent of Schools Neil Cavallaro would not comment.

The newspaper said Golinski and West Haven High School Principal Pamela Gardner could not be reached for comment.
