GLENHAM, N.Y. (AP) - Authorities are investigating the death of a woman who police say was killed in a campfire accident at her boyfriend’s Hudson Valley home.

Police in the Dutchess County town of Fishkill tell the Poughkeepsie Journal (https://pojonews.co/1zeqa58 ) that 53-year-old Linda Calonis was sitting alone by a fire pit in the backyard of the home around 5 a.m. Saturday when the accident happened.

Officials say they’re still trying to determine the details of what went wrong, but don’t suspect foul play.

Authorities say Colonis was formerly a resident of Lincoln Park, New Jersey, but had been living with her boyfriend in Fishkill, 60 miles north of New York City.

An autopsy was conducted but the results likely won’t be available for several weeks. Results of toxicology tests are also pending.
