TYLER, Texas (AP) - Police in East Texas say a bank robber has been captured about eight minutes after the heist after officers found him out of breath about a block away from the building.

A Tyler Police Department spokesman says 31-year-old Riley Womack was charged with aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon. He says Womack robbed the Austin Bank in Tyler on Monday before fleeing on foot.

Officers say Womack had shed some of his clothing but that he matched the profile of the robber. They say he was carrying a bag that had the stolen cash and a weapon.

No injuries were reported. Police didn’t say how much money was taken.

It wasn’t immediately clear if Womack has an attorney.
