LAS VEGAS (AP) - SLS Las Vegas officials say the hotel-casino’s president and chief operating officer Rob Oseland (AHS’-land) is leaving to help build a new resort on the Strip.

SLS officials announced Monday that Scott Kreeger will replace Oseland.

Kreeger was most recently chief operating officer of the since-closed Revel hotel-casino in Atlantic City.

SLS opened in August and recently laid off less than two percent of its staff.

Oseland joined SLS in 2012 after years with Wynn Resorts properties.

He plans to help lead the development of a new resort on the Strip across from Encore Las Vegas.

UNLV gambling expert David Schwartz says Oseland likes to build properties and has the chance to do so again. He says layoffs and management changes happen with any casino-hotel opening.
